“Ponteballerine” Farm and Honey Producer is located near the village of San Damiano d’Asti, in the heart of Alfieri Hills that divide Monferrato and Roero Hills, a real natural stage to look at the Alps and Monviso Mountain.

This farm started to work in the Forties thanks to Mister Eugenio Carlevero and remained in the hands of his descendants in the course of time; nowadays the grandson Cesare, his wife and their young collaborators represent the family.

The constant research of uncontaminated woods and lawns and the use of artisan processing techniques are the strong points of this small company, in order to obtain a tasty, genuine and high quality product.

Respect for the Nature, passion and tradition are the main ingredients of Ponteballerine honey, which is produced in many different typologies thanks the 250 bee yards deployed in the most suitable zones of Piedmont. From the most precious flowers Acacia Honey, Dandelion Honey, Cherry-Tree Honey, Millefiori (several kinds of flowers) Honey, Linden Honey, Rhododendron Honey and Alpine Flora Honey are produced; they can satisfy even the most delicate palates. In 2008, this farm was included in the list of “Food Farming Excellences”, in the “Honey of Piedmont” category.

Not only Honey…

Alfieri Hills are located on the South-West border of the Province of Asti and are perfect for the grape growing too, facilitating the production of characteristic wines of Roero area, as Nebbiolo and Arneis, together with the traditional wines of Monferrato, as “Barbera d’Asti.

Among the kinds produced by this farm, you can find “Barbera d’Asti docg”, “Terre Alfieri doc Arneis” and “Monferrato doc Dolcetto”.

In these wine cellars, only the grapes coming from the vineyards owned by the farm are used in order to have a bigger control of the whole producing cycle. Moreover, the family subscribes to an “Environmentally Friendly Farming” and uses only focused and low environmental impact treatments, reducing the quantity of production, but improving the quality.

Carlevero family waits for you in the farm’s store to taste and buy the products. (Phone notice required).
